Bear Canyon Lake, AZ

Day 2 camping trip on the Mogollon Rim in central Arizona, 100 miles north of Phoenix.

The Mogollon Rim has a fantastic bike/walking trail. On a clear day, you can see over 200 miles. There are Bald Eagle nests and Osprey over the lakes dive-bombing for fish. Whether in a campground or primitive camping, there are plenty of ways to enjoy yourself. Jim and I went exploring to Bears Canyon Lake. He to fish, me to hike and write (I’m working on my second novel.) and take pictures.

After a full day of fishing and hiking, we made it back to the campsite at Woods Canyon Lake to see another shimmering sunset. I bet we come back before the summer’s out. Which shot do you like best?

  1. You don’t make things easy, do you, Cindy!! I love animals, the scenery and sunset are terrific, but the next to last one so reminds of a lake I used to visit in upstate New York near Monroe. The moment I saw it, memories came rushing back. Thanks.

  2. Looks gorgeous Cindy. The last shot is probably my favorite.

I’m pretty big on the outdoors myself, but I’ve found it’s been difficult lately to get out as often as I want. I’m watching so many movies at this point! ๐Ÿ˜€ Maybe a little balance in my life is what I need. . .

    1. It was hard leaving the computer and all technology. No service to even check my phone or text. At first you itch for it, but then, I loved the break from it all. I love being outside–sometimes I find I have to force myself to get out there or the weeks, months fly by. Thanks, Tom ๐Ÿ™‚
