Monsoon Sunrise and Sunset

Today from start to finish, the clouds gave quite a show. Here are five + two of my favorite shots:

Nothing’s better than the skies during monsoon season. It is a wondrous treat to behold such beauty especially when it is from your front and back door. Which shot do you like best?

    1. Thank you! I wish my camera could capture the layers and the space. I really don’t do the magnificence of the sky as well I wish. However, I’m grateful for your comments 🙂

  1. Good job, Cindy. Kind of looks like Florida – you know, the old, “if you don’t like the weather – just wait 15 minutes” routine.

    1. Yes. 🙂 We hadn’t any rain in 2014! Things were getting pretty dusty and even up here in North Central AZ the temps for three weeks were 100 (4 percent humidity). I was tired feeling like an overcooked turkey. First of July, the monsoon rains began. Now every day it rains on my hilltop and it’s so much cooler. I don’t mind a little humidity. Sure makes for a dramatic afternoon show from my deck! 🙂

  2. Excellent shots, Cindy!

Having worked the graveyard (11p-7am) shift on the flight line at Little Rock, AFB anf other locales. Sunrise is usually resplendent in slowly discerning shapes, distances and depths from myriad blackness.

Also remember burning through a few rolls of color film encompassing a spectacular Atlantic sunset while on a Florida vacation.

Your photos prove there is more to the desert than rocks! 😀

PS: You are invited to drop by Ruth’s Flixchatter. I’ve a guest post you may enjoy!

          1. I haven’t seen it. Yet. That’ll change.

Even if she sucks, between Black Widow: The Winter Soldier and Under the Skin (to which I also gave an A), she’s having a good year. 🙂

    1. I am thrilled you are taking time to peruse my posts. I’m grateful. I have lived in Arizona now for three years and have had a great time trying to capture the colors and textures and space of the state. I’m blessed to rent a big house on a hill that overlooks a canyon and provides wondrous drama in the sky. Thank you!

      1. This is wonderful to know more about your life. My grandparents lived in Phoenix in the 70’s into the 80’s. Have you ever run into Luanne Castle’s posts? She is my age and lives in Arizona. She grew up in Michigan. She talks about volunteering at an animal shelter and likes cats. She recently had a book of poetry published, “Doll God.”

          1. She has a family blog called Kalamazoo Family I think and you can find her on Facebook (I am not on FB) and her blog is found on a search, too. She has an interview with Phoenix news on one of her posts, too. 🙂 Her blogging friends are so nice, too.

          2. I appreciate your openness and I feel it is always nice to become connected to a wide variety of people. My blog is not just dating strategies that filled only 6 months of my blog and life. Lol
