Cindy’s Lucky 13 Film Club

Lion_In_Winter1

Just a friendly reminder that in ten days we will discuss the period drama The Lion in Winter. With a fresh pair of eyes, re-watch or try out for the first time this highly-acclaimed classic starring Katharine Hepburn and Peter O’Toole.

  1. Looking forward to it, just like Pete. You never hear of this movie being a classic, but with those two powerful characters – how can it NOT be one?!

    1. Yes, I agree! It also features Anthony Hopkins in his first film feature. I’ve seen a version of the play, but not the film adaptation. It was one of those I missed along the way. So I’m glad to be looking at it now with older eyes.

  2. Ah, I should try to remember to do this! I half-watched this on TV a while back, but missed some important points (I followed enough to enjoy the lead performances, of course). I should dust off that ex-rental DVD I have lying around of this somewhere…

    1. Oh, Please do, Dave! Your two cents would be valuable. Honestly, I’d love to have you as a guest speaker sometime in 2016. Your pick of a cool film, the promise of a re-watch, not a full review, but a study on an aspect of the film for a conversation starter….

  3. i just got my copy. will wait until the 12th to watch it,so as to keep my mind fresh. ill probably watch a dozen or so movies between then and now and dont want my responses blurred.
