Dusk in the Sedona Wilderness

A fun way to host family and friends is to take them to “our” plateau which overlooks the Sedona Wilderness Area. No tourists. Just space and a large campfire to listen to music and watch the stars multiply. Stare long enough into the embers and images appear. Here are five shots of the campfire:

  1. If I can only pick one, I’m going with 2 for having the coolest finding-shapes-in-clouds quality, but 5 was right on its tail. 😀

  2. Wow! What a cool perspective. I’ve looked at them a while now and find it impossible to narrow it to one. Beautiful shots.

    • Hi Keith, thank you. I think of films like Wrath of the Titans or various Hobbit films featuring a Hades of some sort and that’s what the campfire was like.

    • 🙂 thanks, John. I usually take landscapes — that need to capture the space — but it rarely works well. I thought this time I would focus on something minute.

  3. I like the embers in 5, but they are all good. I could feel the warmth, just like from my indoor wood stove at home.
    Best wishes, Pete.

  4. Spectacular shots Cindy! There’s something so intriguing about flaming fire, and so dramatic 🙂 Happy New Year, my friend!

  5. My wife wants to go to Punta Cana or Peru …. and I keep thinking “I’m not really finished with Arizona”.
    Great pics Cindi !
