The best part of the monthly discussions was getting to know the co-hosts as we figured out what to talk about on the 13th, and then the wave of guests who had something to say. Here is a recap with their links if you missed some and want to add to the discussions. Let’s go backward:

It all began with Kate (welcome back from your hiatus) who suggested I run this series as she, and so many of us, enjoy discussing the movies. Should I do this another year? Who would like to cohost? All you have to do is email me with your interest and we’ll come up with a topic: cbruchman@yahoo.com
Thank you, last year’s co-hosts, for contributing your thoughts and time. Want to do it again?
You should pick what you are passionate about, but here are some ideas I was thinking:
The Name of the Rose, A Man for All Seasons, Papillon, Orson Welles, Jack Lemmon, play adaptations, Shirley MacClaine, a Hitchcock film, Ingmar Bergman, Meryl Streep, Elizabeth Taylor, Italian cinema, film noir, The Magnificent Seven, up-and-coming directors, Jackie, La-La Land….
It has been a great series, Cindy Perhaps you will revive it one day?
Best wishes, Pete.

It doesn’t have to end if you want to co-host in the future. Email me if you have an idea, and I’ll keep it running for another year.

Thanks, Cindy, I will give that some thought. Maybe we could do those US Civil War films? Or something like ‘The Red badge Of Courage’ compared to ‘Ride With The Devil’? ‘Birth Of A Nation’, contrasted with ‘Glory’?
Best wishes, Pete.

Very nicely done. Forgive me for not participating as much as I should have – and wanted to. Things intervened.
So great insights along the way. I like the concept – hope you don’t throw it down.

Wooo … can’t say this fanboy feels very qualified to Host. I have lots of opinions, of course … but that’s quite a compliment. Thank You.

Hi Cindy! That was fun to collaborate w/ you on 1930s British female heroines, thanks for letting me take part. I’m interested in the play adaptations, though I’m not sure yet which films to feature. It’d be helpful if I had seen the play AND the film to talk about it. In any case, here’s to more Lucky 13s!

Just when I began enjoying the series … 😦
I do understand. I’ve been quite busy lately, so I know hard is to find time to blog.

Hi, Cindy:
Great idea! Lots of diverse topics. Steven King’s best days are behind him. Best written work: “‘Salem’s Lot’. Best adaptation to film: David Cronenberg’s take on ‘The Dead Zone’ with Christopher Walken.
Second Best: ‘ABC’s mini series, ‘The Stand’. Gary Sinise (Good) and Jamey Sheridan (Evil) rock out lous as natural protagonists!
Nice touch with Ruth and “British Female Protagonists’ and “Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day”.

Hi Kevin, I appreciate your vote. I liked ‘The Dead Zone’ but I would vote for ‘The Green Mile’ or Shawshank or ‘The Shining’ which is one of the scariest films I’ve ever seen. I tried to be diverse with the topics to include as many interests as possible. Why don’t you co-host with me some time?

Yeah. Danny riding his Big Wheel across different kinds of flooring. And the twin blonde girls at the end of the corridor always creep me out in ‘The Shining’. Also, the scenes inside the hedge maze have a scary character all their own.
Co-hosting sounds like fun. I think I found your e-mail address. So I’ll send a message so we have a link for communicating. Let me know what you think.
