Roman aperitivo
Last summer, our traveling group wandered through Roman side streets all afternoon. Working up a good appetite, a few of us sampled the food and drink alfresco-style. Add fun conversations about Rome and its culture–it’s easy to trigger the pleasurable memory whenever I see this picture. It took two hours to nibble away this platter.

Salute!

Good for you! September would be a great time to visit Rome. Fewer tourists and cooler weather. The food is divine. Have a wonderful cruise. I love the Med.

It was as tasty as it looked. I remember your love for Paris. You’d feel that way about Rome. That cobblestoned streets and warm vibe with bridges and history and romance and vino and food. Just sitting and watching the environment is so much fun.

The whole experience was satisfying. I daydream about these moments when it’s the boring month of February and the next adventure is months away. 😉

Twas. The older I get, the more I learn to appreciate the culture and food and drink. I was in Rome in 2005 for the first time and didn’t appreciate it nearly as much as last summer. The upside of growing old, I think.

It could also have been that you had the previous knowledge to give you a chance to dive in deeper!

There are good specialty shops in PHX. You could replicate this platter. I see veggies on your RV grill. 😉

Protein and veggie fix. The honey suprised me. I never thought to include it with the bread and salami and cheese. The Italians have delicious honey.

You might enjoy this as a film fan (and I’m guessing a fan of Italy?) – I just started an Italian film podcast, CINEMA ITALIANO. We’ve got two episodes up and plan to do at least one episode per month, hopefully more!

Your site looks great! I don’t normally listen to pod casts, though. Can you post the recording as a script? I would like to read it. 🙂
