RIP Bear

With a heavy heart, I regret to post that my walking-buddy for the last seven years was put down yesterday. He had a cancerous tumor that appeared a couple months ago on his shoulder and spread quickly. He was my son’s dog. Too hot in Phoenix and too many hours spent in law school, he asked if I’d watch Bear for him. I live up in Northern Arizona where it is much cooler. I agreed. Best decision of my life.

This morning was my first walk without him, and I must say, I’m beyond dejected.

  1. Such sad news, Cindy. Sorry to hear about Bear, but you gave him a great life out on the trails and mountains.
When you are next at your campsite, and the fire is flickering, he will be there in spirit.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

  2. Devasted for you Cindy. Several years back now we lost our Rover, under similar circumstances.

Bear looked like a sweet boy, and I have a soft spot for pointy-ear-y German Shephards. 😦

As Pete said, the man had a good life. Saw many places. And he’s now out of pain. 🙂

  3. So sorry for your loss. Know what you feel, I lost 2 dogs this year. And a cat and a few humans. After 48 bulldog-free hours we looked net, new puppy moved in yesterday. It cannot replace the two but it´s something new. Feels right somehow. Drop by, he´s on my log….
