I love winter hikes after a dusting. The air is crisp, the skies are brilliant, and the snow adds a dimension not seen on regular days during the year. This is Fay Canyon, Sedona.

Ah, you have snow already. We haven’t had any yet, and I hope we don’t. It looks very nice in Sedona though. π
Best wishes, Pete. x

You would like the snow on the cacti. A visual oxymoron.

I would indeed. But I would also like cacti with no snow. π x

I really wish you two would take the trip over. It is not as expensive as you think. When you are sick and tired of the gloom, come visit!

I love the white against the red rocks. Last winter after one of those serious snowstorms, I headed up to Sedona for photo-ops and really enjoyed it. Love this image. Do you have Milly full-time now?

No. We have my older granddaughter full time now. She’s a gem. Milly moved with her mom to Sedona, so now we only see her once a week instead of every day (I was in charge of making lunch and getting her off to school on the bus.)

Notice the human in the landscape. π

I noticed π Makes the image more cohesive, as the eye has something to go to and is then lead by Milly through the picture, where it then goes around the scenery and back to her. Nice!

It seems strange to see snow with that background of mountains. How old is Milly there?

She was 5. She’s 7 now. It did snow the other day in Sedona. I pulled it from my gallery of shots.

I feel that way everytime I go for a hike. Thanks very much for saying so. I’ve been very excited about the new documentary by Ken Burns and “The National Parks”. They feature a lot about Muir and his influence. I realized I’m truly at the core a Transcendentalist.
