OOPS! A sign of staying home day after day. Is this a preview to retirement?Β I did not realize yesterday was Wednesday. Here’s a pretty pair of poppies for you. I took this shot a few years ago in Illinois from my mother’s garden. It’s one of the flowers I miss living in the Southwest. Unless you are in high country, you don’t get to see the fluffy, crepe heads of the poppy.

They are very different to the red poppies over here.
Don’t worry about forgetting the days when you retire. They won’t matter anymore! π
Best wishes, Pete. x

Beautiful photograph Cindy π I live in Illinois, but not in the Southern part, nevertheless, we get a lot of beautiful looking poppies like that as well π Anyway, keep up the great work as always π

I have never seen poppies like these. They are stunning. I am used to the black centred red ones.

They are common in the Midwest area of the States. They stand about .60 meters (2 feet). I like how they shake when the wind blows. π
