Hurricane Ian spread his residule rain and high winds up the East coast keeping many inside this weekend. My prayers to those who suffer in Florida. In Virginia, at the Blue Ridge Mountains, powerlines and trees snapped around our county. We needed to stretch and get out of the house. Here are five shots of yesterday’s misty afternoon walk at the Peaks of Otter.

I like Polly’s cabin. It has a real sense of history.
Best wishes, Pete. x

Yes, I’m a fan of the white chinking between the logs.

The misty pictures look serene but mysterious. Love ’em.
Did Jim catch anything?

No, they weren’t biting. I was surprised. But, hey, that’s fishing!

What a lovely place to walk and fish, can you go in the little cabin for a brew?

No, it is a museum. But the lodge has giant windows and places to sit and sip.

When we drove (parts of) the Blueridge Parkway in August, it was a rainy day with low-hanging clouds and some mist. That made it quite mystical in some places. We liked it a lot.

Polly’s Log Cabin is really lovely. Like white walled tyres on a house!

A really powerful storm. We felt its effects (rain for about 80 hours) here in southeast Pennsylvania, though they were insignificant compared to what happened in Florida.
